You can order your copy of WINTERSWEET right now through your favorite indie bookstore, Powell's, Barnes & Noble, or Amazon.
As the title suggests, Wintersweet: Seasonal Desserts to Warm the Home features all of my favorite winter ingredients, like apples, pears, citrus fruits, cranberries, pumpkins, nuts, chocolate, cheese, maple syrup, honey, and many, many others. Even some you might not expect, like persimmons, beets, and parsnips. Most of the recipes are a cinch to make. Think bread puddings, rustic cakes, cozy crisps and pies, cookies, and snow cones. Others are a bit more complicated for snowed-in weekends all winter long. It's the perfect gift for that special baker in your life—even for those who don't consider themselves bakers (yet)! What's that dessert on the cover, you ask? It's a chocolate pomegranate pavlova scented with cardamom and topped with whipped cream and pomegranate seeds. A pavlova is a pillowy meringue made with whipped egg whites and sugar, baked until crisp on the outside but still soft and marshmallowy on the inside. It's delicious! Other recipes you might enjoy: Baked Caramel Apples, Cranberry Torte, Butterscotch Bourbon Bread Pudding, Chai-Spiced Squash Pie, Grapefruit Ginger Sherbet, Honey-Roasted Pears with Blue Cheese and Walnuts, Spicy Prune Cake with Penuche Frosting, Rosemary Meyer Lemon Tart, Cinnamon Date Ice Cream, Chocolate Beet Whoopie Pies, Sweet Potato Flan, and Goat Cheese Cake with Dried Cherry Compote.
