As I write this, sleet is gently pecking at my windowpanes and there’s still snow in the yard, but no matter. It’s going to be warm and sunny this weekend and all next week, so let’s celebrate!
Waltham Fields Community Farm is holding its annual fundraiser this Friday, April 10 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Charles River Museum of Industry in Waltham. Enjoy local food by Season to Taste Catering, live jazz by guitarist Tom Pendergast, beer and wine, tons of excellent silent auction items like sports tickets and hotel stays, and fabulous raffle prizes. As usual, I’ll have a gift basket full of goodies up for auction. The menu looks great: chilled carrot soup with sumac-spiced labneh, goat cheese and black truffle custard, beef and pulled pork sliders.
It’s always a fun time, but this year, any donation you make during the event or anytime during the month of April will be matched by The Feinstein Foundation in its mission to end hunger in America. So your enjoyment will have twice as much of an impact. For more information or to buy tickets, go here. Hope to see you there!
