Okay, you caught me. Cherry pie isn't actually going to be in my cookbook. Why? Because cherries aren't a seasonal winter ingredient (the theme of my book). Dried cherries, maybe, but not fresh sour cherries, which is what these were.
What happened was I had to retest this pie crust (which will be in the cookbook), and I didn't want to make the same winter pie twice when I had all of these lovely summer cherries sitting around. So voila. Cherry pie.
It was just too pretty to ignore.

Sour cherry pie is one of my favorites, and just looking at the photo brings back memories.
I haven't made a pie in a long time, and it might be time to do one again. :)

I always thought your teases are as tease-y as possible, simply by looking delicious. But this pie looks delicious PLUS you ate a bite. Taking the teasing completely over the edge.

Wait, did you just find fresh sour cherries? Please please please tell me where, as I thought I'd missed my chance to make preserves, and I'm down to my last, jealously hoarded, hidden behind the cans of beans and tomatoes, jar.
It was on your recommendation that I first made sour cherry preserves, and oh, are they fantastic....
