Did you know that butternut squash, the variety we all know and love and hold so dear, was invented in Waltham, Massachusetts? Maybe invented isn’t the right word. Developed? It’s true. By a guy named Bob Young. UMass said so.
So, here I am, sitting in Waltham, Massachusetts, still working on this squash article because I’m a slacker, and it turns out that butternut squash was practically born in my own backyard. My editor is going to think I’m just making shit up.

Well if you're in Waltham, Mass already, then maybe you could interview the guy's sister or something. Or you could make that part up and how would your editor know the difference?

You should just write in your article that it *was* developed in your backyard, by your grand-pappy Bob.

Heather: Oh, I'm going to have a field day with this article now!!
Mary: I know. That's a pretty funny coincidence, don't you think? Squash and I have so much in common, despite being mortal enemies.
