Today was a wash. Breakfast and lunch were pretty much like breakfast and lunch of any other day last week: boring, but local. But since I was out of town for Poppi’s funeral for the rest of the day, I let dinner go. I enjoyed some non-local pasta with non-local mussels as well as two slices of non-local cheesecake and a variety of miniature candy bars with very non-specific geographic designations, like Milky Way. I’m pretty sure we can assume those weren’t local, either.
Meanwhile, back at the homestead, Husband took pity on the children (and himself) and took them out to Friendly’s for hot dogs, French fries, and ice cream sundaes. I think we can all agree that we should cut the kids some slack. The Husband, too, since he has been very tolerant of this whole situation thus far. Tomorrow is another day.
