My husband and I were debating as to the best care for a box of chocolates he received from his employer. Obviously, the best answer is in my mouth, but until then - fridge or counter? --Susanna, MA
Yes, one’s own mouth really is the best place for them. In the meantime, skip the fridge and find a cool, dry, dark cabinet in which to store them, preferably not your spice cabinet (chocolate has a tendency to pick up strong flavors). It should keep for at least a month, sometimes up to six months, but if it’s still there the next time I come over, you and I are totally going house on it.
